Art Journal - Tribute to Writing
I made this art journal page as a tribute to my love of writing stories. Unfortunately, I haven't written anything in the last few years because I need large blocks of free time to really get into story planning and chapter writing, and I mostly have shorter burst of free time these days. One day I will get back to it though!
To make my journal page, I used a brayer to paint my background and added some Tim Holtz paper with gesso to ground the typewriter. The typewriter is cut from a Tim Holtz die with black textured cardstock. To give it a more vintage look, I rubbed on some Finnabair wax and Distress Crayon. The butterflies are made from a Tim Holtz stamp that I inked onto a page of an old book, then fussy cut out. Finally, I added the words with some alphabet block stamps from my stash.
I am entering this into the Funkie Junkie Boutique challenge - Triple the Heat. The three butterflies are the "triple" in my project.
Gorgeous card! I love the TH typewriter and it’s texture. Thank you for joining the Funkie Junkie Challenge!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love how the ideas are floating off the typewriter! Thank you for playing along with us at The Funkie Junkie Boutique Challenge!
