Mermaid Birthday card

I decided to try no-line coloring with Copics and Polychromos to make this card and it was a lot more difficult than I expected! I didn't realize how tricky all the edges would be, and I had to color a bit differently and more slowly since I didn't have black lines to easily define each section of the mermaid.

I also tried a new color combo for the red hair and drew in some extra details for the mermaid's tail. Usually I layer my cards but I thought a one layer card would pair well with the no-line coloring, so I masked off the mermaid and added the rest of the scene onto the same piece of cardstock.

Materials used for this project:

Versafine ink pad in Black Onyx
Copic markers and Polychromos pencils
