Vintage Birthday Card

I have a serious weakness for vellum, lace and Jane Austen, and this birthday card features all three! The card is made with several different products from Papertrey Ink / Ink to Paper.

To start, I watercolored the card base to give a bit of texture and variation. Once dried, I die cut it with a scalloped edge and heat embossed a quatrefoil design on top with silver embossing powder. I cut another smaller panel using vellum and a die from Love to Layer: Notched, then wrapped lace ribbon around it for added interest.

A third layer uses watercolor paper and the large cameo stamp from Simply Jane (a Jane Austen inspired set - the very first stamp set I bought!). For extra dimension, foam squares are used to attach the top layer to the vellum. A pearl necklace for the cameo provides the final touch.

I love the end result. The card is very feminine with some shine, softness and lots of dimension!
